with our regular 12” series both coming to end some people thought that wph would end as well. you should’ve known better, because there is too much gorgeous music coming from our small wph family to just let other labels shine with it. and so we have decided to throw caution into the wind and embark on a new story. a story in which our artists get to tell their story by means of a full album. at the heart of metrobox’ sound is a love for moog, 909 and sh 101 sounds, combined with a knack for seductive melodies and a healthy dose of vocal action. two collaborations with wph head honcho red d and belgian mc champ tlp add some extra oldskool flavor to the proceedings. and yes, we are well aware of the fact that double or triple albums are heavy on your budget and that you all prefer to shell out 15 euro for a one-sided limited detroit release instead of a 12” with three tracks you like ... so this album will come in three separately available 12”s, giving you complete buyer freedom.

every now and then a track rises above the rest and gets mythical status, especially with those that dont have it. you may be wondering how not having a track is still possible in nowadays digital era? well, the reason is called vinyl only.maxim lanys cuncambias is such a track, and lany recordings is very happy to announce that it will re-release cuncambias on a limited one-sided vinyl release (250 copies) and as a much-requested digital release as well.courtesy of we play house recordings, making it the only wph release ever to be licensed for a vinyl re-release on another label. as a little bonus we play house recordings head honcho red d made an extra track to go along with cuncambias, dedicating it to his long-time friend and lany recordings label boss maxim lany, aptly titled max d.

for this 10th wph release we looked towards belgiums finest raoul lambert aka raoul belmans aka one half of swirl people to follow up on his splendid wph blue b-side track 3 seconds released late 2009. raoul quickly sent us cinnamon dreams, the result of a long valencia-session with friend and fellow producer nacho marco, during which they apparently ate the whole spanish supply of belgian speculoospasta, a specialty that cannot be translated in english, but it contains cinnamon, hence the name of the track and the ep

luv jam has the honour of being the first signing to the wph roster that survived the ongoing chaotic process of demo submissions via myspace or e-mail. it has to be said that luv jam was at the end of his wph wits after several friendly but stern denials by label boss red d. one last ditch 4am attempt proved that tenacity and patience are always rewarded, black beauty was right on the wph money and off we went.

quality house ep with vocal & deeper tracks to keep fans of this great label more than happy..! dynamodyse is the deepest german we know and he is hailing from dortmund, usually only known for sausages and the odd good result of the local football team. as we dont believe in stereotypes and we have been listening to loads of superb teutonic house music these last years, we never questioned the association between the words deep and german and we just listened to the music. safe to say it blew us away.

for this wph excursion - reggie dokes brings 3 brand new tracks and one older gem that has been edited and reworked by fcl (san soda and red d). an ep by reggie dokes on we play house recordings was simply inevitable. not only does this mans music move us to the extreme, reggie and label boss red d also go a long way back and have been friends ever since red d visited the movement festival in 2003.
